The Boston University Duan Family Center for Computing & Data Sciences is now verified as a 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 by the New Buildings Institute, and it's officially the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 in NBI's Getting to Zero Buildings Database, out of 202 verified projects across North America.
At 350,268 SF with a site EUI of 40, this building proves that zero energy performance is achievable at scale, even for a dense, energy intensive program like computing and data sciences. It's also 𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗗-𝗡𝗖 𝘃𝟰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 and stands as 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.
🎉 Congratulations to the entire team who made this achievement possible. Results like this depend on close collaboration from design through long-term building performance.
This is one of 10 TGE projects featured in the Getting to Zero Buildings Database. Check out this project and our other nine!
