The Green Engineer attended a topping-off ceremony July 9th at The Van Ness, located on 1325 Boylston Street, just a stone’s throw from Fenway Park in Boston. Members of the development and construction teams spoke optimistically about creating an “urban village” geared towards pedestrian access in the near future of the Fenway area. After being signed by the many stakeholders in attendance, the final beam was hoisted to the top of the 11-story building amongst applause from the crowd. The Van Ness will contain 172 apartments, retail space, and office space. This project is seeking LEED-NC v2.2 Gold certification.
