On June 12th, The Green Engineer participated in a building tour of the newly constructed East Boston Branch of the Boston Public Library (BPL) system for the USGBC MA chapter, Emerging Professionals group. Of those guiding the tour were: project architects Carla Ceruzzi and Sindu Meier of William Rawn Associates, BPL Branch Director Christine Schonhart, and The Green Engineer project manager Marie Nolan.
The focus of the tour was to educate tour attendants on the main design features and concepts behind the unique spaces created within the project, as well as highlighting the sustainable features of the project that are sending the Library well on its way to reaching their initial goal of LEED® Gold certification.
The Green Engineer acted as sustainable design consultants to the architect, and is currently administering the final stages of LEED Project Management on this project.
